I certified as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Nutrition Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I’m also a competitive and sponsored obstacle course athlete. In 2015 I was ranked #1 in age in the Spartan Race Open division in the US and top 10 worldwide. Before the end of the season I started racing in the Elite division and had 2 Masters Elite podium finishes. I briefly retired from racing and concentrated on obtaining my Personal Training Certification and Fitness Nutrition Specialty from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I use the knowledge I gained both as an athlete and as a student of the National Academy of Sports Medicine to continually look for new ways to challenge myself and athletes both physically and mentally. Each client I work with is treated as an athlete that deserves the highest attention and respect. During my racing career I have had the opportunity to work with all types of athletes, from world class to beginners; this has given me a unique insight into how to provide motivation to clients so they can attain both their fitness and life goals. Being a certified nutrition specialist also allows me to provide nutrition coaching to my clients so they can maximize their workouts and reach their fitness goals. There is plenty of confusion out there with fad diets and conflicting information surrounding diets and nutrition. I rely on science based research and educate my clients on how to use nutrition in a healthy and sustainable way. I love watching my clients reach each milestone in their journey to their health and wellness goals. Changes usually start happening pretty quickly in the abilities of the client and seeing their confidence increase right away makes it very exciting to work with each client to achieve their goals
